Introducing the A-E2KPm V-Mount Adaptor

One of the most exciting products to arrive in 2011 has been AJA’s Ki Pro Mini portable flash disk recorder.  Designed as a miniature field recorder for creating ‘ready-to-edit’ professional digital video, the Ki Pro Mini is fast becoming a very popular disk recorder for multiple production environments.  Until now, finding the optimum mounting solution for the Ki Pro Mini could be challenging – whether  connected to a camera system or positioned in a rod configuration.  Until now, there has not been a streamlined, singular mount and chassis solution in a sleek ergonomic design.  Now there is.

Record with confidence using IDX’s A-E2KPm adaptor – it’s one of the best ways to securely mount the Ki Pro Mini in the most often-used configurations and power to the recorder is covered via an integral 4-Pin XLR that’s standard on the adaptor.

On the camera – Direct V-Mount attachment to the camera back.  An integrated P-V2 plate for our ENDURA 12V battery line-up powers both the Ki Pro Mini and camera.  Need to include wireless video transmission with the CW-5HD?  V-Mount the transmitter module to the camera back and V-Mount the A-E2KPm to the back side of the CW-5HD for complete power through-put.  The 2-Pin D-Tap output has ancillary power for on-camera gear up to 50W.

On the shoulder mount system– Using the IDX A-CA74E shoulder mount, professionals can now use their small profile camera set-ups in conjunction with the Ki Pro Mini.  Select the appropriate P-V212,         P-V257 or P-V284 down-converter V-Plate and its matching cable, installing them on the back plate base of the A-CA74E.  Next, attach the Ki Pro Mini housed in the rugged A-E2KPm adaptor and then connect  an IDX battery of choice such as E-7S for its power capacity, small size and weight – your basic camera equipment just transformed into a first-class recording production.

On the rod system – Combine our A-E2KPm with an IDX ENDURA battery installed.  Instead of locking to a camera back, interconnect the adaptor’s male V-Mount to an external female V-Mount docking unit that clamps to the standard 15mm and/or 19mm rod set.  Companies such as Element Technica (www.elementtechnica.com) offer a convenient, precisely-engineered V-Dock model ideal for this application.
